Oh so sorry Herr Kommisar.
I forgot, we are no longer allowed to have a sense of humor under WP NOT:FUN.

I'll take myself back to the saltmine now.

"assume good faith" what? Is this on some list of "summary box style guidelines" that I missed?

Also, I concur with omega man that you seem to be advocating a serious bit of WPISNOT:FUN

Bear in mind that Karmafist is currently in the middle of an arbitration case for just such things as that. Even though this particular instance is really amusing.

That arbitration case doesn't seem to have anything to do with leaving silly edit comments. It's about welcoming newbies with messages that point to his own opinions about wikipedia as if they were official policy.

That case was resolved.
It was really just another case of sour grapes on the part of the cabal.

Wikipedia is becoming a fucking Gulag.

Ironic you say it that way, because Karmafist's entire "philosophy" page appears to be sour grapes about some policies on wikipedia that he doesn't agree with.

It's pretty disingenuous to send newbies straight to an "alternate" description of wikipedia, without even providing a link to all the official wiki help pages on those topics. Most of his descriptions are oversimplified, sarcastic, or just blatantly false.

And yes, the case was resolved. He's no longer allowed to welcome users with anything other than {{welcome}}. I fully support the spirit of this outcome (though I think it is a tad too broad)

Finally, I just want to state that running around calling people the "Cabal" is beyond useless, does nothing to improve wikipedia, and just fosters ill will and factioning.

I don't know if you're keeping up with current events, Sunshine, but they've now blocked him for including a link in his Sig:

"Finally, I just want to state that running around calling people the "Cabal" is beyond useless, does nothing to improve wikipedia, and just fosters ill will and factioning."

Neither does bullying and brow-beating fine contributors into silence.

Wikipedia is a victim of its own success and is starting to collapse under its own weight. The current mechanisms for dispute resolution, mediation and participation are breaking down. As a result, the power structure is becoming more authoritarian, bureaucratic and arbitrary.

Policy, instead of a means to an end is becoming an end unto itself.

The 'pedia is becoming a Bizzaro version of itself.

"sunshine?" I'll have you know I read that entire arb page before posting. You've assumed too much, and have insulted my intelligence. I'll stop being nice.

The guy clearly violated the arbitration, and now he can't use wikipedia for -- omg -- a whole freaking day.

Neither does bullying and brow-beating fine contributors into silence.

From what I've seen, I'm beginning to doubt that karmafist is as much of a "fine contributor" as you want to believe.

the power structure is becoming more authoritarian, bureaucratic and arbitrary.

Hell, it's not called the arbitration committee for nothing.

Meanwhile, the rest of wikipedia ticks along just fine while you people who need to "fight the man" in any organized social structure you find yourselves in keep crying chicken little.

I'm surprised someone of your purported educational background, does'nt know the difference between Arbitration:
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Arbitration

and Arbitrary:
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Arbitrary

Though they share a common, Latin root, their meanings can be quite different.

But that's ok, the ArbComm doesnt seem to know the difference either:>

Meanwhile, the rest of wikipedia ticks along just fine while you people who need to "fight the man" in any organized social structure you find yourselves in keep crying chicken little.

Better to have the courage, like Karmafist, to tell it like it is to the man than to try and gain favor from him with a colon-lingual manuever.

Better to have eyes on the skies and the prize, than a head stuck in the sand.

Yes, mildly amusing.

I don't mind humour in the edit summary, as long as it actually summarises the edit. Which this one didn't.

Agreed. Besides, it'll be hard to beat "tyop" I reckon.

One of my now-traditional edit summaries, usually for a minor edit, that it seems I need to use much too often, goes:

God damn these Indo-European languages and their subject-verb agreement rules!

Considering this is my wiki-offtime, I must say that's fairly amusing. Doesn't beat my {{db|article makes babies cry}}, though. :P

Awesome. Me loves the Karmafist.
